BUILDING LEVEL & INNOVATIVE GRANTS

These grants are designed to reward creativity and innovation, as well as to reward employees, who dedicate time and energy to enhance their students’ educational experience, and to further inspire such creativity in the school district.

Hear from some of our Building Level & Innovative Recipients:

Amanda Sheeley - Xylophones

-Music, K-5 Belvidere Elementary

Our K-5 elementary music program at Belvidere Elementary was awarded a grant to purchase classroom xylophones for the 2024-2025 school year. With this grant, we were able to purchase three xylophones, a metallophone, and several pairs of mallets to help us enhance our music education across multiple grade levels. We have been able to implement these instruments into our curriculum, allowing students to engage in hands-on learning that supports state and national music standards. The xylophones help students develop rhythmic and melodic skills while fostering creativity, collaboration, and a lifelong appreciation for music. This grant has provided a lasting impact, enriching our music program and empowering young learners through meaningful musical experiences. We look forward to being able to continue to use these xylophones in our music room for years to come.

Thank you so much for awarding us this grant and for helping give our students the opportunity to engage with music on a higher level; we are so thankful to have been given this opportunity.

Dr. Laura Herrick- Fine Arts Field Trip

-Kindergarten, Martin City Elementary

The kids were so thrilled with both experiences! It was amazing! We paid for a bus to Kaleidoscope complete with lunch outside and some ice cream after the symphony at the Kauffman.

Tammy Semrick- Everlast Climbing Wall

-Occupational Therapist, The High Grove Early Development Center

We opened the wall for our Cool Move program starting in February 2025.  It's a great addition to our obstacle course and has been a fun challenge for the kids!
