Grandview Education Foundation Executive Director
The scope of services covers aspects of fundraising, grant writing, managing and leading the Foundation's activities. The Executive Director is overseen by the Foundation Board of Directors. The mission of the Grandview Education Foundation is to partner with the Grandview Community and the Grandview C-4 School District to enhance educational opportunities for the students and staff of the District.
Specific Services:
Administrative- File annual business registration; file other city, state, and federal reports; promptly respond to phone, mail, email, texts, and social media inquiries; monitor Foundation's mailbox; write and submit grant funding applications.
Fundraising- Raise $15,000 annually beyond existing donors/sponsors/ grants; work with the Program and Development Coordinator and Board to plan and organize events and fundraising opportunities. Ensure donation acknowledgements are sent within one month of receipt. Develop policy and forms for planned giving.
Event planning-Create and support committees to plan and execute the following events: Heroes for Education 5K, Trivia Night, Distinguished Alumni Recognition Brunch, Cover to Cover Summer Reading Program and others as determined by the Board.
Community Relations- Present to various community organizations (South Kansas City Chamber, Grandview Chamber of Commerce, Kansas City South Rotary, e.g.) and participate in various community events (Bands on Byars, Martin City St. Patrick's Day Parade, Harry's Hay Days, e.g.) to promote the Foundation.
Grandview School District Relations-Work closely with District leadership and staff to support fundraising for GEF (Dollars for Scholars, Heroes for Education 5k, Trivia Night, e.g.).
Alumni Relations-Use alumni database and Facebook Alumni pages to get support for Foundation activities and fundraising; maintain relationships with supporting alumni through GEF newsletter and emails for future events.
Support Staff Grant and Student Scholarship Process-Promote staff grant opportunities; work with District leadership to encourage staff to apply; assist with grant application submissions, and help with grant selections; seek new donors for scholarships; promote scholarship opportunities; work with high school counselors; assist with the selection of recipients and presentation of scholarships at Honors Night.
Board of Directors Support-Attend all Board meetings and events; provide monthly reports on progress toward designated outcomes; supply all materials and reports needed for effective oversight and decision making.
Financial-Assist Foundation treasurer with financial accounting and reporting.
Technology- Maintain current software licenses for Foundation technology services.
Contract Value is $25,000-$30,000 annually, based on experience, with incentive potential.
