Ritchy Lowe Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established by family and friends when Ritchey passed away unexpectedly in September of 2021.

Ms. Lowe taught math in the Grandview School District for 30 years before retiring in 2020. She began as a high school math teacher and then taught middle school math for 28 years.

Ritchey had a quick wit, clever sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a warm smile.  People who knew Ritchey may not remember what she taught them, or what she said, but they will never forget how she made them feel - important and valued.

Her scholarship will be awarded to a female student who demonstrates outstanding mathematical ability. 

Applications are available in the counselor’s office. Applicants must meet the following requirements and include the following information in their application:

-Must be female

-Minimum 3.0 GPA

-Demonstrate strong mathematical ability

-Plan to pursue the study of mathematics or science in college

-Three letters of recommendation (no relatives)

-Essay required that tells how the applicant became interested in math and what they plan to do with their mathematical abilities in the future.
